Yianni Diakomihalis was born to mom Gina Collura and Ilias Diakomihalis. Yianni grew up with three brothers in Rochester New York.
The 2022 world silver medalist in freestyle wrestling has athletic family members. All of them were present at his win at the 2019 U.S. Open National Championship and the 2020 Pan American Championships.
Besides his notable wins, he has been a two-time age-group world champion and a two-time US World Team member in 2021 and 2022 in the 65 kg weight division.
Diakomihalis’ fame came early in college when he became a three-time NCAA Division I national champion and EIWA champion with Cornell University.
Gina Collura Is Married For The Second Time
Gina Collura was 21 when she gave birth to Yianni on April 11, 1999. He was the first born in the family.

Her social media mainly includes her family moments with her sons. Gina is a regular cook and baker. She enjoys baking cookies for special occasions, especially the holiday season.

Mike Collura Is A Yankees Fan
Gina Collura second husband, Mile Collura, proposed to her in September 2017 at Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key.
The Collura couple married two years later in 2019 and have been together since then. Mike accompanies Gina on Yianni’s wrestling matches while they come together to celebrate holidays.
Mike’s love for the Yankees is eminent on his Instagram. Meanwhile, he is mainly seen with Gina at Yianni and his brothers’ sports programs.
His birthday falls on July 19 every year. He is a few years younger than his wife. Gina calls him the best dad figure in the world as he cares for all the Diakomihalis boys and their children.
Yianni Diakomihalis Dad
Yianni Diakomihalis also maintains a loving bond with his dad, Ilias Diakomihalis. His father is not active on social media platforms, unlike Gina.
Diakomihalis senior is a former NCAA All-American for the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). He partnered with Yianni to teach at a Penfield Patriots Wrestling camp on July 6, 2017.
Ilias is also friends with Joe De Sena, the CEO and founder of Spartan Race. Hence, he appeared on one episode of the Spartan Up Podcast in 2021.
The two talked about building mentally strong kids in contrast to Yianni’s accomplishments in wrestling.
Diakomihalis Has Three Siblings
Yianni Diakomihalis has three siblings, all younger brothers named Greg, Elijah Diakomihalis and Micah Joseph Collura.
He has two blood brothers and one step-brother from Gina’s remarriage. Both of his younger bros have taken wrestling, following in his footsteps.
The Diakomihalis children started their household as a wrestling clan.
Greg Diakomihalis
Greg is a sophomore at Cornell University’s Big Red wrestling team. He finished his freshman year of the 2021-2022 season with a second position in the Bearcat Open and seventh in the Southern Scuffle.
Greg, the middle son of Gina and Ilias, is a 5-foot-5-inch wrestler and a former five-time New York state champion. He graduated from Hilton High School, just like his elder brother.
Young Diakomihalis was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler twice at New York State Championships in high school.
As a junior to his Yianni at college, Greg is also focused on his studies. He is currently attending classes at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Elijah Diakomihalis
Elijah is the youngest brother among the Diakomihalis kids. He is a sophomore at Hilton High School and has been named one of the young wrestling talents to watch in 2023.
He competes in the 189-pound weight division, of which he emerged as the 2023 Eastern States Classic champion. Meanwhile, he bagged third place in the NYS last season.

Micah Collura
The youngest member of the blended Diakomihalis and Collura families is Micah Joseph. He is the only child of Gina and Mike.
He was born after Gina endured 65 hours of labor, ending with a C-Section. The young one shares a loving bond with all of his three elder step-brothers, as seen on Instagram.
Little Micah was born on September 10, 2018, weighing seven pounds and thirteen ounces. He was 22 inches long at his birth in Highland Hospital.
Micah first went on a zoo trip to Seneca Park Zoo in October 2019. He then started school in 2021 and is currently at the elementary level.
Gina has described him as a stubborn yet hardworking kid who enjoys hard jobs, including gardening with his dad Mike.
Yianni Diakomihalis Family Life
Yianni Diakomihalis lives in a big family with three younger brothers and parents Mike and Gina. He often visits his biological dad Ilias.
Yianni returns to his New York home during the holiday season and does not miss the fun. The six Diakomihalis and Colluras opted for a professional group photoshoot at Greece Canal Park in November 2020.
While Micah struggles to pose for perfect pictures up to Gina’s demand, Yianni and his brothers have mastered the photo trick.
Yianni does not miss any festivals and returns to his Gina to celebrate Easter, Halloween, and Christmas each year. Gina’s idea of spending as much time with her kids till they are 18 has run the household successfully.
As the Diakomihalis men have grasped into wrestling, little Micah has been heavily influenced by them.
The little Collura is known for showing off wrestling moves that he learned from his elder brothers and does not shy away from doing farm work to help his father.
Yianni Diakomihalis Girlfriend
Yianni Diakomihalis is currently in a relationship with his girlfriend Jessica Aman. She is nicknamed Jessie by everyone around her.
She was a fellow Cornell University student in the College of Arts and Sciences. Her family has a long history with athletics and the Ivy League uni since her grandfather and uncle attended Cornell.
Her mother, Lisa, played field hockey and lacrosse at Yale as an undergraduate. The 5 feet 2 inches beauty was in the Balance Beam and Floor position for her uni’s gymnastics team.
Jessie is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from The Galloway School and was a level 10 competitor and three-year Atlanta North Stars Gymnastics captain.
Ms. Aman was also a regional qualifier and knabbed the fourth position on the floor at the 2016 Level 10 regionals.
She earned ECAC All-Academic honors in 2019 and was named a USAG Scholar-Athlete during her junior year at Cornell in 2020. She graduated in 2021 and did not participate in gymnastics as the season was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Jessie graduated with a degree in Biology and Society major while focusing on Policy in the Life Sciences and a Business minor, per her LinkedIn.
She has worked as a Project Coordinator at Cayuga Medical Center in the Quality & Patient Safety department since June 2021.
Aman is currently based in Tompkins County, New York. She is also an Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) professional with her expertise in Management & Strategy Institute.
